No N.Z.R.U. action
The New Zealand Rugby Union will not act on the Canterbury union’s request that it take another look at the penalty it imposed on Colin Meads for his part in the Cavaliers’ tour of South Africa. Last month, after Mr Meads had been severely reprimanded for his role, the Canterbury union expressed surprise and disappointment at the leniency of the penalty. It asked the national body to reconsider its de-
cisjon to allow Mr Meads to continue as an All Black selector this year. ' The reply, received at a meeting of the Canterbury union last evening, said that the N.Z.R.F.U. council had taken its decision with all the facts before it, and with the benefit of legal advice. i “There is no intention by the council at this time to reconsider its decision," said the letter, which was received without comment
