Overdue skiers safe
PA Timaru Two skiers overdue from a week-end expedition between Mount Dobson and Fox Peak in South Canterbury came out of the area yesterday, 45 minutes before a search was started. Rob Moffatt and Russell Shanks, both of Timaru, were due to be picked up at Fox Peak on Sunday evening but arrived later than expected and missed their ride home, said the rescue co-ordinatbr, Mr John Dore.
He said the skiers spent the night at a hut on Fox Peak and skied and walked out at 12.15 p.m. yesterday.
