Tools taken from council
A gang of professional burglars is believed to be responsible for an $ll,OOO haul of tools taken from the Ellesmere County Council workshop at Leeston at the week-end. The burglars took two council vehicles: a Mazda 323 car, which was recovered later at New Brigh-
ton, and a white 1983 Holden utility, which is still missing. Six chainsaws, new tyres, a welder, and tools such as electric drills and angle grinders were taken. Constable Rex Hallinan, of Lincoln, said that a safe containing a small amount of cash was also
