Leading first-season sire for N.Z.
PA Auckland Australasian Breeding Stables has bought the British first season sire, Kampala, which is to begin duties at the company’s Palmerston North property in the spring. A company spokesman said yesterday that the sire is the first proven stallion brought to New Zealand from Europe at the height of his career. Kampala has sired nine group and stakes horses; He was the leading British first season sire of races won in 1984. Kampala was an outstanding racehorse. He set a track record for seven furlongs (1400 m at Ascot when he won the Victoria Cup
