Flexible morality
Sir,—Many misguided Christians see Pentagon hawks as stalwart knights of grace in shining tinsel armour, riding psychedelic dragonflies over rosescented gossamer landscapes. The horrific realities, under the headline “U.S. army ready to make sniff-killers,” reads like science fiction madness. Christians who do acclaim Pentagon arrogance may care to explain the moral ethic inherent in such fiendish products. Just why is it the U.S. can conduct 12 nuclear tests in 10 months without censure from their world-wide Christian supporters, while Russia, which has conducted none, remains top of their poli-tico-religious hit list? Flexible morality is so convenient. Complaints against anti-Christian viewpoints being aired, cannot alter the foregoing “facts.” Incidentally, boils are nature’s way of . cleansing a chronically diseased system.—Yours, etc., ARTHUR MAY.
