Site attracts interest
Strong interest has been shown in a $1.3 million commercial property near the corner of the Main North Road and Winston Avenue in Papanui. The sole agent for the property, Mr Bill Mehalski, said yesterday evening that two interested parties had come forward since the property was first advertised on Tuesday. Those to express interest were a prominent property development company and a new car franchise holder. The 1942 sq m property, owned by Mr Peter Hurn, has a wide frontage on the Main North Road and another on Winston Avenue, although it is not right at the corner of the two roads. Mr Mehalski said a lot of the property’s value lay in the wide frontage on the Main North Road, and he exected it would be redeveloped for retailing.
