New N.Z. envoy to S. Francisco
PA Wellington Mr Nick Bridge has been appointed consulgeneral in San Francisco, said the Minister of, Foreign Affairs, Mr Lange. New Zealand’s links with California were particularly strong, he said. California was the most important tourist market for New Zealand in the United States with more than 30 per cent of all American tourists coming from there. The west coast of the United States had been a priority market for New Zealand exporters for sev;ral years. Mr Bridge is serving as counsellor in Canberra. He has served in London, Singapore and Peking.
