Tariki well brings up oil
PA Wellington The lower Otaraoa formation on the Tariki-1 well has been flow tested, producing oil, Petrocorp (Exploration) said in a statement to the Stock Exchange, yesterday. After flowing for 19 hours the well was producing 85 barrels a day of oil, 145,1 M standard cubic feet of gas, and 127 barrels of water a day through a quarter-inch choke at a flowing well head pressure of 3751 b a square inch. Flow testing is continuing. Partners in the venture are Petrocorp, 28.34 per cent; the Minister of Energy, 38.36 per cent; Payzone Exploration, 17.5 per cent; Southern Petroleum, 5.1 per Cent; Nomeco N.Z. Exploration Company, 5 per cent; Bligh Oil and Minerals, 2 per cent; Carpentaria Exploration (MIM), 2 per cent; and Petrocorp Exploration (Taranaki), 1.7 per cent
