P.S.A. backs report on handicapped

Wellington reporter Reports on New Zealand's psychiatric hospitals and hospitals for the intellectually handicapped have been welcomed by the Public Service Association. But the president of the P.S.A., Mr Colin Hicks, said that little in the reports was new, and little that would be difficult to

accept. Many of the report’s findings had been the subject of previous P.S.A. submissions to hospital boards, to the Health Department, and to various Ministers of Health. Support for the need for improved facilities and better staffing levels could be realised only by improved funding, Mr Hicks said.
