New report on river, options
"Waimakariri River and Catchment Issues and Options” is the title of a .new report by the North Canterbury Catchment Board. It seeks public comment by July 31. The aim of the report is to provide a starting point for public submissions on the content of the forthcoming draft management plan for the Waimakariri River, according to the board’s deputy chief
executive officer, Mr M. J. Bowden. “A three-volume Waimakariri River and catchment resource survey has also been published and will be available to the public soon,” Mr Bowden said. The report deals with four separate catchment areas including the upper catchment, the AshleyWaimakariri Plains, the river system, and the coast.
