Principals’ associations to merge
Two associations representing the principals of independent schools will merge later this year. The Association of the Heads of Independent Preparatory Schools and the Association of the Heads of Independent Secondary Schools will merge to become the Association of the Heads of Independent Schools. The secretary of A.H.1.P.5., Mr David Brooke, of Medbury School, hoped the merger would take place before September, saying it would lead to a closer dialogue between the two groups. It was also felt that the Education Department would find a united association more acceptable than two separate ones, he said.
