Players sent off
Three players were sent off in a stormy first division match between Avonhead and Dux de Lux in the Sunday soccer league on Sunday. Two Avonhead players, Dennis Cooper and John Matthews, had an early shower as did Eric Reiser, for Dux. Glen Byre leads the first division on goal difference from Dux. Woolston Foundry came back in spectacular style from being 1-3 down to hammer North Beach, 8-4.
Burncastle leads the third division on goal difference while Transport Board is similarly placed in the fourth division.

Fourth division: Lyttelton B 3, Spruce Services 2; Vision Aluminium 1, Valley Inn B 0; Transport Board 5, Mico Wakefield 2; Trusteebank 4, Dux de Lux C 1.
