NZPA-Reuter London Manchester United’s flickering hopes of winning its first English soccer championship for 19 years were almost certainly extinguished yesterday when it lost, 0-2, at home to Sheffield
Wednesday. Second-half goals from Carl Shutt and Mel Sterland sent United plummeting to their second defeat at Old Trafford in four days following the 21 humiliation by fellow title aspirants Chelsea on Wednesday.
