Complaints still drifting in
Prebbleton residents are still complaining about odours from the Meadow Mushrooms farm, in spite of the installation of a new machine which was meant to eliminate smells.
In a report to the Paparua County Council’s finance committee last evening, the chief health inspector, Mr lan Dawson, said a new composting system was installed last month.
“While this is a significant improvement from
the pre-assembly potential smell source, over-all improvement will depend oh whether the new windrows will in themselves be an additional source of smell,” the report said. Complaints were still being received. The council is awaiting the results of tests ' by Lincoln College at the farm.
Its case against the company for alleged contravention of the Health Act; is due to be heard in June. - ;
