Four on new land board
Wellington reporter Mr David Henson, of Christchurch, is one of four hew appointments made to complete the establishment board of the Land Development and Management Corporation.
This board will advise the Government on how to set up the new corporation, as part of restructuring environmental administration.
Mr Henson is a past president of Federated Mountain Clubs and is convener of its pastoral lands committee. As such, he has been in the forefront of the battle over ownership of and access to South Island high country and whether parts of it should be retired and surrendered.
The other three appointed are.— Mr Dan Duggan, general secretary of the Workers’ Union and a member of the Agricultural Training Council. Mr Jim Scotland, a business consultant and horticulturalist, who is a member of the Hawke’s Bay Development Council and the Institute of Farm management. Mr Ray Hannan, a retired Wellington lawyer with a lifetime of experience in land law.
