Suburban lower grades
Two centuries were scored in lower grade suburban cricket matches on Saturday. Malcolm Williams, of the Hoon Hay third A grade team, and Roger Sisson, of the Papanui W.M.C. third B side, both scored exactly 100.
There were also two hattricks taken. Russell Hallet, bowling for Bowleys Hornby in the fourth B grade against New Brighton, captured six wickets for 14 runs, including a hat-trick.
In that game, five wickets fell in five consecutive balls, with a second bowler sitting on a hat-trick.
Graeme Maybee of the Hoon Hay fourth C side, took four wickets for 23 runs, including a hat-trick, against L.R.L.F.C.
An impressive bowling effort came from Kevin Cameron, of the fourth grade A Merivale-Papanui team. He took six wickets for six runs in the first innings against United and five wickets for ’ five runs in the second innings. Results:—
