Joiner to stop work
PA Masterton Theren Sugrue, last year’s top joinery apprentice, will have to give up his job. Mr Sugrue, aged 20, works in Greytown, Wairarapa, and-in September was flown to Auckland to be presented with his certificate and a
$5OO cheque. Now problems with his eyes will mean the end of his job as a joiner. "Specialists say it is an allergy to wood dust. My eyes have been giving me problems since I started my apprenticeship,” he said yesterday. “Once we finish this house I will have to stop.”
