Youth test drawn
NZPA-AAP Melbourne New Zealand Youth hung on for a draw after an early collapse had given Australia an outside chance of winning the second test at the Albert Ground, Melbourne, yesterday. 1 . A- ■ - ■ The Queensland mediumpacer, Joe Scuderi, aged 17, torpedoed New Zealand’s first Innings in a devastating spell. ScUderi, from Ingham, took five wickets for 39 runs off 24.5 overs as New Zealand crashed to be all out for 203, but the Kiwis,, who were forced to follow-on, hung on for a draw after more than a day’s play was lost because of rain. At stumps the New Zealanders were 131 for three, still 24 runs short of Australia’s first innings 358, with the captain, David Hartshorn, and Grant Bradburn both unbeaten on eight.
