Fun run directory published
A Fun Run Directory has also been published for the first time this year by the Christchurch City Council. It lists the dates and venues of fun runs, triathlons and marathons in the Canterbury region. The council had had so many calls from enthusiastic runners wanting information on fun runs, that council staff decided to compile a directory, explains recreation officer, Caroline Laxton. The directories are free and can be collected from city and suburban sports
stores, Sporting Adventures in Manchester Street or Christchurch City Council facilities. The current directory covers January to June. The next directory will be available at the end of May and will cover June to December. Any groups or organisations intending to organise runs or marathons who want to be included in the directory should contact the recreation officer at the Christchurch City Council, P.O. Box 237, Christchurch, or telephone 791-660.
