NZPA-AFP London England, thrashed, 33-6, by Scotland in the Five Nations rugby championship last Saturday, will field an under-strength team for the World Sevens tournament in Sydney on March 22. Many of England’s leading players will be unavailable because the
Sevens clash with the English Cup semi-finals. Mike Weston, chairman of the England selectors, commented: “March is hardly the ideal time for Sevens, in view of the cup, but at least the tournament gives our coaches a chance to check up on Australia before the World Cup.”
