FUTURES Quietly firm

It was a fairly quiet day on the dollar market, said Mr Alan Overton, futures trader for Mair Astley, Ltd. The February contract changed 200 points — a profit of $lOOO on long positions — reflecting a weakening of the Kiwi dollar. Mr Overton said, "The PCP market had an average sort of a day — prices rose and closed near their highs for the day.
