Elders to accept
NZPA-AAP Adelaide Elders IXL, Ltd, directors intend to accept the five-for-four share offer by Fielder Gillespie Davis, Ltd, for New Zealand’s Goodman Group, Ltd, Elders directors said yesterday. Fielder is making a similar bid for Allied Mills, Ltd, in a move to form Australasia’s largest food group through a three-way merger. Acceptance of the offer for Elders’ 22.3 per cent stake will leave Elders with nearly 9 per cent of the combined food group, depending on the level of acceptances.
