Keen response to sports lottery

The Canterbury Allsports Promotion Trust has every reason to expect success in its first lottery. Already 10,000 of the 30,000 tickets have been ordered, although only a limited number of associations have so far replied to the request for individual club contacts, and of those clubs contacted so far, only 25 per cent have sent their orders in. The chairman, Dick Brittenden, said yesterday that much had still to be done in seeking orders from clubs; winter sports organisations which had been in recess were now

busy with preparations for the coming season. Mr Brittenden said that his organisation would like to hear as soon as possible from all clubs interested in fund-raising. The response so far had been most enthusiastic, he said, but clubs and organisations which wanted a $6 return on every $lO ticket sold — and the prospect of further support from any profit made — would be well advised to make their decisions while tickets were still available. The trust’s contact address is P.O. Box 13545.
