Cost of haircut rises
PA Dunedin The cost of men’s haircuts has gone up because of rises in award pay rates and an increase in the price of electricity, according to the New Zealand Men’s Hairdressing Federation.
The national president, Mr Noel Davies, of Dunedin, said the increase would vary from $1 to $2.50. “Increases will depend on the time taken and the salon location,” he said.
It is the first substantial increase for some time, and took effect from February 11, Mr Davies said.
