Foreign exchange market
Sir,—l grow weary of the seemingly endless tirades of fatuous propaganda concerning the evils of financial speculation, particularly those with reference to the foreign exchange market, having read yet another utterance from Mr J. Anderton (“The Press,” February 17). I challenge Mr Anderton, or anyone else who holds similar views, to provide a simple, lucid, and logical explanation of the mechanics of a speculative foreign exchange transition. If they can provide a method showing a guaranteed profitable outcome, then I suggest that they would be more successfully employed using it themselves.—Yours, etc., DAVID J. WALKER. February 17, 1986.
