Army will release finding
PA Dunedin Findings of an Army Court of Inquiry into an accident at Hinds, south of Ashburton, on January 14 will be made public. Two Dunedin territorial force soldiers were injured in the accident, one of them seriously. Service courts of inquiry are not normally made public. “We share the same concern as the public in what happened in this accident,” said Major B. W. Morrison, the joint services’ public relations officer in Christchurch. “We do not want to make a mystery of it.” One of the injured men, Corporal M. W. Rowlands, aged 28, of Brighton, was expected to remain in the spinal unit at Burwood Hospital, Christchurch, for at least three months.
