Bitumen plant production
PA Whangarei The Marsden Point oil refinery bitumen plant is expected to resume full production by the middle of next week. Production was disrupted last week when spilled oil caught fire in the bitumen column, causing damage
estimated at $20,000. The manufacturing manager for the New Zealand Refining Company, Mr Frans Roos, said crude oil was being unloaded at the Marsden Point terminal and was expected to be completely discharged by tomorrow.
