New partner
Canadian-born Allan Moffat of Australian saloon car racing fame with works Fords and Mazda RX7s has joined forces with his longtime rival, Peter Brock. Moffat, who it was believed would lead a Ford comeback in Group A: saloon racing next year, has joined the Mobil-Holden Dealer Team and will race with Brock in nine international events, in addition to Bathurst and Sandown
Park, in 1986. The first race will be the Nissan Mobil 500 on the Wellington waterfront street circuit at the end of January. The Moffat-Brock combination should be formidable. Between them they have won on 12 occasions at Bathurst and also at Sandown. They have also taken out the Australian Touring Car Championship six times.
