Cricket standings

PA Hamilton Alan Bligh led the Otago B scoring with an attractive 83 when a three-day cricket match against Northern Districts B started in Hamilton yesterday. Bligh’s confident innings included 13 fours and one six and his 50 in 95 minutes.

Otago B’s 298 was the result of steady batting right down the order.

A patient century by Steve Robertson was the highlight of the first day of the match between Central Districts Second XI and Auckland B at Nelson Park.

Robertson worked his way to 107 in just over five hours at the crease to guide Central Districts along to a stumps score of 303 runs for the loss of eight wickets. He struck only two boundaries, both in his first 50, and gave chances at 75 and 87.
