Warm-up for tour
Blair Hartland, a member of the New Zealand under--20 cricket team which is to leave for an Australian tour at the end of this month, will have an appetiser for that trip when he plays two matches against the Emus at Hagley Oval next week. The Canterbury under-20 side will play a one-day match against the visitors on January 24, and then a three-day game against the same opposition, starting on January 26. The Emus are players drawn from New South Wales club sides.
Canterbury’s squad of 12 will be the same for both matches. The players are:— J. Preston, D. Cusack, G. Lund, Hartland, D. Halligan, D. Murray, G. Dickson, D. Bond, R. Petrie, I. Boyle, S. Roberts, R. Ford. Practice at Hagley Oval, January 16 and 23 at 5.30 p.m.
