Speedway postponed
The Champion Spark Plug World Jubilee Series meeting, which was to have been held at the Ruapuna Park Speedway yesterday, was postponed because of rain. The meeting, featuring the final appearance in Christchurch of the sixtimes world champion, Ivan Mauger, will be held this evening, starting at 7 p.m. John Cook, the spectacu-
lar American speedway rider, extended his unbeatable points lead in the series at Dunedin on Saturday. Cook effortlessly won his heats and semi-final but had to be content with second in the final to the New Zealander, Larry Ross. Mauger finished fifth in the final and slipped from third to fourth on the points table.
