Tax concessions for flood donations
PA Wellington Donations by individuals and public companies for people affected by the recent flood in the whangapePawarenga region would qualify for tax concessions, said the Minister of Civil Defence, Mr Tapsell, yesterday. Individuals may claim a tax rebate of up to $2OO for the year ended March 31,
1986, for their donations. Public companies can receive tax relief on donations of up to $4OOO subject to certain conditions. The minimum donation for qualifying for that relief was $5. The Bank of New Zealand and local authorities would be the official collecting agencies for donations, Mr Tapsell said.
