French yacht second
PA Auckland The French yacht L’Esprit D’Equipe which arrived in Auckland just before midnight on Tuesday, has been placed second over all in the Whitbread round-the-world race. L’Esnrit d’Equipe, skipped by LiSpel Pean, was less than 39 minutes behind the
over-all handicap leader Philips Innovator. Two yachts arrived yesterday afternoon — Rucanor Tri Star, of Belgium, and the Dutch craft Equity and Law. Rucanor, which arrived at 12.23 p.m., is eighth over all on handicap. Equity Land Law, which finished aUL29 p.m., is tenth.
