Surgery for Evernden?
PA Auckland There has been little about Kelly Evernden’s form on the tennis court this week to suggest he may be about to have major eye surgery. Between matches Evernden has been walking round the Stanley Street courts in heavy-duty dark sunglasses to protect his eyes. The rising star of New
Zealand tennis has developed a film over one eye which may have to be removed by surgery. It is a condition not uncommon among tennis players and is caused by constant exposure to sunlight. “It’s a problem I’ve had for four or five years,” said Evernden. “It doesn’t affect my vision but it does cause my eye to go red.”
