Christmas dinner at City Mission

Sir, — While we were responsible for initiating the first Christmas dinner supplied by the Anglican City Mission and for continuing it the next year, its present existence is largely the result of involvement by mission staff and many volunteers, and the generous public gifts of cash. Those responsible include people who have mas-ter-minded the project in the past — Mesdames Jeanette Coughlan and Margaret Morell in recent years — volunteers who prepare and distribute food, wash up, etc., under the capable management of “James," who directs operations in and out of the kitchens; groups of students doing the internship course at the City Mission, whose zeal, enthusiasm, hard work and innovative ideas add greatly to the joy and success of the occasion and families and guests from near and

far who share in the meal. We thank God for motivating all who contribute or partake. Long may the occasion continue. — Yours, etc ALEX AND EDIE MARCON. December 27, 1985.
