Funds may be released soon
PA Wellington The remaining 5 per cent of frozen funds in the Public Service Investment Society may be released by the end of March, said its statutory manager, Mr Bob Stannard. Although progress during the six months to September 30 was not as rapid as he would have liked, he was pleased the deficit had been further cut. ?
In that period, the P.S.I.S. produced an over-all surplus of $116,000. The accumulated deficit has now been reduced to $694,000 from a peak of $6.5 million 3% years ago. There has been a growth in P.S.I.S. membership which is an important indicator for the future, said Mr Stannard.
