The Australian maxi yacht Ragamuffin and the Farr 40 Zap, representing Papua New Guinea, collide just after the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race yesterday. A total of 182 yachts left on the forty-first sailing of the classic which runs 630 miles south to the Tasmanian capital. The race is also the last in the Southern Cross series, in which New Zealand lies second and third, behind Great Britain. The first boats home are expected to cross the line on Monday.
