NZPA-Reuter Paris The United States swept into a second decade of world supremacy in men’s athletics this year, according to a survey published yesterday by the French sports newspaper “L’Equipe.”

An analysis of world best performances in 24 track and field events in 1985 said the Americans had increased their lead over the Soviet Union with East Germany a distant third.
