Sports goods warning
PA Wellington Badminton, hockey and squash players may be first to benefit from a reduction in the price of sports goods caused by cuts in import duty. However, sports goods sellers have warned that price reductions will apply only to a selected range of products. Summer sports goods
were unlikely to fall in price immediately because items on dealers’ shelves had already been subject to duty, said the secretary of the Sports Goods Industries Association.
The price of winter sports goods may fail, although factors such as freight costs and exchange rates, over which dealers have no control, may still affect pricing.
