Despite finishing second from last in the Prudential under-20 cricket tournament, which ended at Hagley Oval, yesterday, Northern Districts has the best representation in the. New Zealand team to make an internal tour after Christmas. The team was announced at the end of the competition on a day in which rain washed out all play except for a brief period in the game between the top sides, Canterbury and Wellington. Canterbury added 25 runs and lost its captain, David Hartshorn, for 111, before the rain settled in, to assure the host side of victory in the tournament. Northern Districts has three players -in the New Zealand team, which was selected by Messrs Frank Cameron, Brian Andrews and John Wright. They are Grant Bradburn, /kddil Somani and Brian Spragg.
