Wheat price
A weakening in the value of the New Zealand dollar has resulted in encouraging news for; wheatgrowers. The Wheat Board’s weekly average indicator price for wheat has risen $ll a tonne to $264. The daily price yesterday was $274.64 which narrowly exceeded the board’s floor price for next year of $274 for .quality index 100 wheat. Monday’s price was $258. The value of the New Zealand dollar against the United States dollar started the week at 0.5580 c and declined sharply later in the week to finish at 0.5225 c yesterday. ; The price of Australian standard white wheat dropped slightly during the -week to finish at $U5143.50. ;
