The applicant will be ‘working with one other Neurologist to provide Inpatient and outpatient neurology services and will be required to visit peripheral hospitals in the Board’s area on a regular basis for inpatient and outpatient consultations. The post is a full time or maximum part time one (9/10ths). The successful appointee will share responsibility for clinical and laboratory haematology and the administration of the Regional Blood Transfusion Service with the present consultant haematologlst. The Waikato Hospital Is a base hospital of 850 beds and the specialist haematology facilities serve a regional population of approximately 500,000 people. There is a Well equipped and staff haematology laboratory and facilities for outpatient and inpatient care. Construction of a new Regional Transfusion Centre is due to start in 1986. A research interest would be encouraged. Conditions of employment and salary are in accordance with Hospital Service Determination M. 10 (Medical Officers). Salary will be within the following scale with commencing step dependent on qualifications and experience — $NZ52,600/ $66,400. A successful overseas applicant will receive substantial reimbursement of removal expenses to New Zealand, subject to a suitable bond agreement.
