SPECIALIST PHYSICIAN ROTORUA HOSPITALS A SPECIALIST IN General Medicine is required for the Rotorua group of hospitals. Rotorua Hospital is a general acute hospital of 386 beds and there are 109 rheumatology beds at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The appointee should be eligible for specialist registration in general medicine, but a specialist interest in one of the medical sub-specialties would be desirable and would be encouraged. The appointment is part-time on an 8/10ths sessional basis. Private practice will be allowed and there is good scope for private, practice in Rotorua. Consideration could be given to the appointment being whole time for a short period. Rotorua is situated in the centre of the geothermal area of the mid-North Island of New Zealand and provides excellent recreational facilities by reason of the wide variety in the surrounding natural environment. Salary will be within the range of the Specialist Automatic Scale—sNZs2,6oo/$66,400 per annum, the commencing rate to be determined in accordance with qualifications and experience.
