Rude shock for film crew
PA Wellington A secret promotional filming of a new Toyota car went horribly wrong for a Japanese film crew in Lower Hutt on Wednesday with the arrival of a reporter and photographer of Wellington’s “Evening Post” newspaper. The filmmakers tried unsuccessfully to grab the photographer’s camera and then said the Japanese people would be very upset and top coming to New Zealand if the “Post” reported the story. The film’s producer, Miss Yuri Yamada, said they were intending to transport the secret car inside a truck to locations all over New Zealand. This morning’s shoot was their first session. If the assignment received > publicity, they would have to cancel the assignment immediately and go home, and never use New Zealand as a location again, Miss Yamada said. A member of the public, who did not want to be named, said he saw the red car before it was rolled back into the truck. He said it looked something like the very latest Mazda RX7 or the Mitsubishi Starion. “It is very sleek and looks more like something Italian than Japanese.”
