Standardbred partnership

A second standardbred partnership, worth $2.5 million, has been launched from the Nevele R Stud, Prebbleton, with the promoter again being Fay Richwhite and Company, the Auckland merchant banker. Alexandra Breeding Partnership, Ltd, and Company, is bigger than the first standardbred partnership, Addington Breeding, Ltd, and Company, which was launched in September, 1984. Alexandra is offering 2500 units of $lOOO each, compared with the 1500 $lOOO units for Addington. However, the Alexandra partnership will have only 40 broodmares to be agisted at Nevele R, compared with 47 for Addington, the promoters saying that the prices for standardbreds have increased since the first partnership was launched. The mares were bought in Australia by Mr Wayne Francis, the joint proprietor of Nevele R, who has agreed to a bloodstock management and agistment agreement with Alexandra. The main difference between the two partnerships

is that the Alexandra one will hold stallion shares. It has been negotiating for a share in two Nevele R stallions, of about 25 per cent each, and a 50 per cent share in a new stallion, which has been bought in the United States. The name of the new stallion will be given at a meeting at the Nevele R Stud on Friday. Of the units in Alexandra, SIM has been reserved for the investors in the Addington partnership. Application is for a minimum of five units, and subscriptions opened on November 18, and will close on February 28, unless filled earlier. For Fay Richwhite, it is the sixth special partnership that the firm has been involved in this year, and the 15th under their management.
