First Lady status for Begum
NZPA-Reuter The wife of; the Bangla-' deshi President has been given an official status as the country’s^First Lady.; with a special role inwomen’s and social affairs: in one of the world’s largest J Muslim States. ’ A senior official said Begum RaushonErshadwould: have an office and personal; staff in a separate wing of the Presidential palace. She would attend all functions concerning women and social affairs to substitute for President Hossain 1 Mohammad ? Ershad/' and would offer guidance on; various government matters from time to time, he said.
