NZPA-AAP correspondent Adelaide A powerhouse batting performance by India’s captain, Kapil Dev,, and some fine strokeplay from Mohammed Azharuddin gave the touring side victory yesterday in its first match in Australia this ' summer. Kapil Dev and Azharuddin scorefl 165 of India’s winning totalfef 329 for 6 enough for
victory by four wickets over South Australia at Adelaide Oval. Kapil Dev, a veteran of 71 tests, took control of the match between lunch and tea and blasted 10 fours on his way to 83 runs in just 147 minutes. His innings avenged his duck in India’s first innings and also emphasised what a danger the allrounder could be to Australia’srfortunes in the fortE comin&fhree-test series. f
