Timaru building damaged
PA Timaru ’ Timaru police were yesterday investigating an explosion which was detonated in the foyer of the Government Life building on Sunday evening. The explosion, thought to be a plastic bag filled with acetylene gas, was the second of its type to be detontated in Timaru in recent weeks, said Sergeant Nevili Haggart.
A similar device was detonated in the driveway of the police station, he said.
The explosion on Sunday evening blew out five windows and doors and caused damage estimated at $l5OO. Sergeant Haggart said that such explosions were dangerous. He has asked the public for any information about the Sunday explosion.
