Prop may miss Aust. tests

NZPA special correspondent BRUCE MONTGOMERIE Carcassone The Kiwis giant prop, Kurt Sorensen, could miss out on playing for New Zealand in the three rugby league tests against Australia next year. Sorensen, the strongest man in the touring party, starts a three-year contract with the English club side Widnes soon after the second test against France at Perpignan next week-end. “I will not be returning to Sydney to play for Cronulla next year, and I will have to think about whether I will be available for the Australian tests,” said Sorensen. “I want to play in them, but I must respect my body and will not go there just to make up the numbers.” Sorensen is the most competitive player on tour and is still trying to improve his game. “I still have a lot of goals in front of me, and I find that keeps me going. If you want to make it to the top you have to train hard,” he said.
