Trout ova
The North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society has put 50,000 rainbow trout ova Into the shingle of Lake Georgina, near Lake Coleridge, as part of a fisheries enhancement project. The ova came from the Wildlife Service hatcheries at Ngongotaha, Rotorua; at a cost of $684. A later check showed the fry to be in excellent condition.
